Avios on BA operated but not-marketed flights

Hi all

I recently flew Stockholm to LHR on BA metal but on a Finnair ticket number and flight number.

As a BAEC Gold member, I thought I would earn avios you get flying BA but BAEC have said since it was a Finnair booking so I only earn based on Finnair ie fewer avios earnt.

Can anyone confirm whether this is correct?
