4. surprisingly, I got the message that the 50 night award needed to be selected before choosing platinum premier award.
5. clicked the link to select the 50 night award and it worked.
6. click the 75 night awards link, and it worked.

This worked for the SO's account. YRMV...
That did not work for me, I have already selected my 50 night gift [ I have 77 nights] and when I do what you do I get the message "Your all set" so I can't get to the 75 night choice
