I agree with the above cities, but sometimes we forget to factor in repositioning costs (e.g., visas, plane or train fare, etc.).

To experience F from DXB-MAA, I must first fly to DXB or be in Europe on a separate booking. When adding that to my YYZ-???-DXB rt, it's about the same amount, give or take.

I would add CPT or JNB-DXB-onwards are pretty decent fares, but sometimes one has to want to visit that less expensive destination.
