If you're ticketed, don't worry. I imagine that most people wouldn't even bother to look at their credit card account for many weeks, and would never notice the day-by-day machinations of the system.
If you're really concerned, call Amex. Their agents look at a different system from that facing the customer, and so may be able to tell you what they can see.
