Recognition for elite members varies by *A carriers! When flying AC, UA, NH and LH I never received any recognition as a Gold. Meanwhile I flew MS four times earlier this year with three out of the four flights the pilot came up to me personally to thank me and shake my hand fire being a Gold member and choosing MS. Clearly YMMV here!
