That is a different issue. ASP can be booked online no problem if it is operated by QF Mainline. The issue with CHC is that trans-Tasman flights are mostly operated by JetConnect, a QF subsidiary. These can be booked with Avios but do not appear online, and must be booked over the phone as you found out.
