Sunwing issues - need advice
Hey folks, this is my first post in this forum, hopefully I posted in the right place, apologies if I didn’t
We have a booked vacation with sunwing from YYZ to PUJ for 10 days that was booked for Sept 9 for a whole family (2 adults and 2 kids - 3yo & 6mo)
The vacation was booked originally in June. Exactly a month ago I got a call from the travel agent (sell off vacations) that sunwing had canceled the return flight date (no longer flying on a Wednesday to that Destination or back) and we have an option of moving our vacation to start on Sept 8 or 10 and get FTV of $100 pp or cancel the whole thing and get money back.
We have chosen to fly on Sept 8 and come back on Sept 18.
The flights details were as following:
SEP 08 @ 06:15 YYZ to PUJ @ 10:30 - WG 438
SEP 18 @ 13:20 PUJ to YYZ @ 17:50 - WG 437
Last night I decided to go to sunwing website to see what is the allowed luggage rules and to my surprise I found out that the flight details have been changed once again (this time I didn't get any notifications).
The new flight details are as following:
SEP 08 @ 16:35 YYZ to PUJ @ 20:45 - WG 438
SEP 18 @ 11:35 PUJ (via POP) to YYZ @ 17:40 - WG 437
Not only now we arrive late at night and leave early in the morning losing 12 hours of daytime of our paid vacation or I would say the 10th day of our vacation but on the way back we getting stuck to fly not direct as it was paid but via a connection flight.
We extremely furious of those changes but not sure what we can do about it or what we can claim as a compensation. Not only now we have ruined ourselves the first day as kids would be extremely exhausted by the time we arrive to the hotel ( way past their bed time) and exhausted doing connections on the way back but we also not getting the full 10 day vacation that we paying for.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated
