My single experience there, arriving in 1st on BA around the same hour, was 10 min to clear immigration* and 45/50 min to get the bag from the carousel. With separate ticket and checked luggage, in my opinion your second choice of 4 hrs between flights is just right. More could be even better, since you have then a ship to catch
