I too have a favorable opinion of the IC Cartagena and echo the comments above. I really enjoyed the pool too. I think the poster above meant to write "no reception on the first floor." One enters an elevator lobby on the ground floor to go up to reception on the 5th floor or so.

The beach in CTG is nothing special, but I find it the same as other beaches in the Caribbean. Having to decline offers for the multitudes of goods and services offered is a bit of a drag. Take the boat ride to islands.

Be a little careful with Uber there (and elsewhere in Colombia). Regular taxis are combative, one blocked our Uber and refused us to pass when we exited the walled city. We had to get out and find a regular taxi.
