Shangri-La BKK: Krungthep Wing or Shangri-La Wing?

For my dates at the Shangri-La in Bangkok, I'm being offered the same room rate for either the Shangri-La Wing in a "Deluxe w/ Balcony River View Room" at 40 sq m. or the Krungthep Wing in a "Deluxe Room River View with Balcony" at 44 sq m. Can anyone advise as to which is better and why? What is the difference between the two wings? This is a special trip in November with my sweetie, during Loy Krathong, so having a balcony and a view of the river is important to us.
