The IC every time, as long as you have the points or the cash. It's quite a polished hotel: rooms are large and comfortable, and the hotel is generous in its upgrades. Staff are helpful, service is great. Try to negotiate breakfast into any upgrade

The hotel is smack bang in city. It's one of those odd (to me) hotels with reception on the first floor. There's a rather upscale shopping mall next door. Plenty of buzz in the area, and well patrolled public beach in front. It's not the hotel beach but it's run by concessionaires who keep their eyes on things. Of course there are beach vendors, but that's part of the fun of city beaches.

The old town is ten minutes' away by car. Use Uber. I was happy to walk there.


The Holiday in is fine. But it's on the other side of the airport, in an area of modern apart-hotels and condos. I visited some friends staying there. they seemed happy enough, but I wouldn't have traded it for the IC
