I purchased my ticket online. When I tried to change my ticket online it kept insisting that I visit the nearest EK office since it wont let me do it online. I didn't pay over the phone since I refuse to give my credit card details over the phone.

By all means complain through the appropriate channels if you wish, but remember you're already very privileged, and waiting 20 minutes for service in first class is a far cry from not being able to afford eating. Most of the world lives that way.
I don't recall ever waiting over 20 minutes on my QR experience in J. Oh and did I mention that it's shameful that EK crew serves regular water to passengers in first class while QR serves
