Personally, I view the chance of finding myself in a survivable seat in a survivable crash so remote that the risk of serious injury is simply not of any bother to me, and I would much prefer the extra comfort on each flight.
I recognise however that mine is a personal view and not one for the CAA/EASA/FAA.
