As much as I liked being back in Kuala Lumpur – 2 nights were enough for me. I went for another extensive and super unhealthy breakfast at the Shangri-La (highly recommended), before checking out and heading back to KUL Airport. Just like 2 days ago I took MH's 737 back to Singapore in ECO. Luckily I still have my Iberia Gold Card so I could enjoy the new(?) MH Business Lounge in KUL:
As far as I know MH spent some money recently to enhance the lounge experience at their home base and it shows: the lounge feels super spacious and new, offers a good food selection and has a nice view for hardcore aviation nerds like me:
I've uploaded some more photos of the lounge here if you're interested:

The usual 737 brought me back to SIN, my 2nd favorite city in Asia (bonus internet points if you can guess the #1

).
I was lucky at the 'taxi bingo' after arrivals, a nice MB E-Class brought me to my hotel. I chose the Orchid near Chinatown this time due to price & location. After a few detours (just like in Berlin where I have to explain the cab drivers how to drive to my destination...) I came to the hotel and was allowed an early check-in (thanks!). The rooms are definitely OK:
It's also just a short walk to Maxwell Food Court, where I finally wanted to check out the (over?)hyped Tian Tian Chicken Rice that rose to fame after being mentioned by Michelin. There was only a super short line...
...and I went for half a chicken with rice:
Taste and consistency were definitely good, but I don't know if it's that much better than other stalls to justify the hype. As it started to rain, I headed back to the hotel for a power nap (I'm not that young anymore...).
Despite being just one night in Singapore (and having been there for a gazillion times already) I wanted to take some photos. I took a cab to Clarke Quay in the early evening and walked to the Marina, passing all the locals during their afterwork drinks (at some point I want to work here as well):
By accident I came to the Merlion just when the light show started, so I took some photos of that (even though photos like these have been posted a million times here):
I never get bored of that view though! I continued my way to the Helix Bridge and took some more shots:
At this point I was sweating like crazy, so a stop at Marina Bay Sands Mall was really welcome. I never realized they had a food court downstairs, so I kinda stumbled into it – but at least I got a tasty Bulgogi there with a view of the ice rink:
Then I took a cab back to the hotel as I had to get up super early the next day again (more flying, YAY!).
