I would personally go out of my way to avoid the 787's as three out of four I have been on have had multiple annoying defects around entertainment screens and toilets. And these are aircraft less than three years old. Shockingly poor quality product.

And don't get me started on those windows. Instead of good old blinds they have this ridiculous shading system that cannot go completely black. Made the mistake of sitting in 7A on a daytime flight to SJC – the sun was constantly distrupting my viewing on the screen with the window at its darkest setting – and it also got really hot at the window. Obviously, the solution is not to book an A seat on a daytime flight to the US but still…

I kind of like 7E for the privacy and direct aisle access and the small front Club cabin on the 789 but I would actually rather fly on a 777-300 than a 787. And much rather in UD on the A380 or a refurbed 747.
