I'd try calling the hotel and asking for something like the front desk manager or rooms manager during the business day. Say that you've been trying to confirm an upgrade with points or your SNAs, you zee availability, but you cannot do anything because of the merger and could this person please help you somehow. The response might be to place you in a suite, although the hotel won't be able to take your SNAs. They might be able to take points, but I'm doubtful that this function is working now eithert. With luck, you'll get your free Plat suite upgrade confirmed in advance of arrival and you might even be able to negotiate the specific suite or suite category.
