I just wanted to add my two cents here that while I really don't like to pre-pay, the savings I just found were quite something. For a minivan pickup at DTW tomorrow and dropping it at LAN on Monday the pay later rate was $2,118.28 with Enterprise and the Pay Now 'slash deal' was $423.07 There was also a pay later rate at National for $1,595.71 and a slash deal of $489.63. (These rates have been like this for over a week) Look, there's no way that I'd ever have paid that $1.5k rate (I'd have just returned at DTW and done a $150 Uber -but man, what a hassle). This is a nice option to have. Our party is actually splitting up so we could also one-way to CMH, which we did. There the price difference was only marginally better when pricing CMH, but I still took advantage of the pay-now rate because my go-to company of National wasn't doing Minivans one-way to CMH. I was hesitant to book the rate concerned about additional driver fees, but reading the 'booking terms' it stated that spouses were included in the rate, so I booked with Enterprise for $447 pre-paid. Even though it's for tomorrow it still gave me an option of cancelling up till the time of the rental for a $75 fee. So, that's a nice touch. I'm impressed and you saved me some money.
