I always use the same guy if possible in my local as he's very friendly and doesn't mind when I load a basket/trolley full of them. Also very impressed with the balance (see earlier post). Otherwise make sure you use a different checkout person.
The 'Party' excuse usually works well, and I've only had one occasion where I tried it and they still seemed a bit suspicious, (she had her finger on the manager call button). I backed this up by adding that my sister was marrying a bloke with a large 'extended' family and my family were doing the catering for the engagement party.
Plus: My kettle & 1000 points should be here by Monday according to Tesco CS, "sorry for the delay".
