would be a pity. Much better price point than the v8 mustang and Camaro.
I was just down at Cleveland Hopkins two days ago. Had booked LCAR for 10 days but they only had Buicks and Chrysler 300s. But there were a couple of mustangs and challenger R/Ts just parked at the front and the attendant asked me if I wanted an upgrade. At first they said it would be $25/d but I negotiated at $15/d (still don’t know if it was worth it, total came out to be about $65/d for 10 days).
Received a grey 2018 Challenger R/T with 1337miles on the clock, cloth seats, no nav, but with sat radio, back up cam (but no parking sensors) the keyfob says it’s group is V4. Had a lot of fun with the car, returned it with 2800 miles. Did average about 20mpg, as these newer models have the “shut down 4 cylinders at cruise speed” system that saved gas.
I guess they keep these out of the reservation loop to try to get people to upgrade them as they come in. At the lot I was at there were at least 4 Challengers R/T, 2 mustangs GT, 2 Infiniti Q50 all which were parked up front, but were not available at the site to reserve. And to answer your question, Challenger R/T are definitely not being taken out of the group as they were all brand new models with low miles on the clock.
