Just finished a 3 night stay (8/15 to 8/18). A really nice property. It was confusing as to what part of the Sheraton Carlsbad Resort and Spa and Westin Carlsbad Resort was new. I never stayed here previously. My understanding is the configuration of the Sheraton is a bit different than it may have been before. Building 3 apparently was part of the old Sheraton is now actually part of the Westin. So, there is some new and old parts in both hotels.

As for the room, I was upgraded from a Traditional to a Coastal room. No view but it was on the side that faced the coast. There was a balcony, but was narrow and the table and chairs barely fit. No room to sit.

Lobby was spacious. There are two computers to use in the lobby and entrance to the 7 Mike Kitchen restaurant. Food was good especially the pizza. Next to the front desk was the entrance to the conference rooms.

The pool was great and included a water slide. Zero entry at one end to 4 feet where the water slide was located. The is an activity center and kids movies at dusk on the weekends.

Be sure the front desk agent, gives you a free dessert card for each night if your stay. It’s included as part of the resort fee. I was one of those that didn’t get it a check in and asked later about it.

Private entrance to Legoland California was great. Opened at 10 AM daily and closes 30 minutes after the park closes. The main entrance does open a bit earlier and some rides were opened at 9:30 AM for non-Legoland Resort guests. No much of a problem as the private entrance brings you to the back of the park and wait times were still fairly minimal for attractions at the back of the park.

Overall, an enjoyable stay.
