Totally, agree, when you travel a lot, my nose and my throat make the difference between those three models and the 747/777 very quickly. In terms of noise, while the 787 is much better than those two models, I do find the A380 and A350 significantly quieter.
Very good point about delays on the 388 (though in fairness, all my 388 flights this year have been on time, and from that point of view, the constant problems with the 787s present a much higher risk of cancellation as well as substitution, both of which can be very inconvenient). Good point as well about the two row mini-cabins on both the 788 and 789 which can indeed be very pleasant. I have a feeling the 787 has her big fans and her decidedly unsupportive users. I suspect that a lot has to do with your tolerance for the magnetic windows as if you find it hard to sleep with the glare they let through there will not be much redemption.
PS: happy to go with your experience on upgrades - as I said, my own rate is a glorious 0% on all the models listed so I just assumed that the lack of F seats on the 789 would be an impediment (after all, the argument WAS explicitly that they have too many F seats in other cabins and this affects the yields!) but indeed, the routes on which they fly are quite different in the first place, bar a few comparators like LAX.
