F checkin at SFO was fairly picky and wouldn't let me do three small items. I ended up checking a 4kg small bag full of misc stuff and keeping two others. No big deal, but not really what I expected for F (and there's a light load in cabin and plenty of stowage space).
Flying F doesn’t mean you can disregard safety rules/restrictions. You should not expect extra carry on allowance no matter which class you are on. Even though JAL usually is not picky about it, the check-in agent and other staff still have the right to enforce it no matter how empty the cabin is.
