F checkin at SFO was fairly picky and wouldn't let me do three small items. I ended up checking a 4kg small bag full of misc stuff and keeping two others. No big deal, but not really what I expected for F (and there's a light load in cabin and plenty of stowage space).
The weirdest thing about SFO was the BA Terraces lounge dragon initially refused to let me into the lounge using F ticket because "no oneworld status", saying "I don't know where people get the idea..." but I then showed her the oneworld terms which say "Customers flying First or Business Class have access to the equivalent class of lounge regardless of their frequent flyer status. First Class passengers may use a Business Class or frequent flyer lounge if a First Class lounge is not available." (
https://www.oneworld.com/ffp/lounge-access). I'd previously gotten into the CX lounge on the same basis and she then relented; IDK if she didn't know the rules or if they were full and she was just trying to discourage additional guests (which if she'd said I would have been happy to skip; I was just exploring JL CX AF(Priority Pass) and BA lounges because I could.)
The flight itself, which I'm currently on, is amazing. My first JL flight, in F. And I just found out I can extend my trip and will probably try to book JL F for the return a few days later vs the JL C BKK-KIX-LAX-SFO I currently have booked. I'll probably start flying JL on paid fares for all my transpac flights next year.
