IIRC it still costs nonelites $150 to change and redeposit each (one way or RT) DL award ticket. The bigger question is whether new flights will cost a lot more miles. [If your friend can guest you into the AA lounge even though you're flying DL--check their rules very carefully--you might decide that this could make up for moving from FC to coach on your flight to SEA.]
