Just noticed this when logging out today. Apparently CG clients with self directed brokerage accounts are received a commission reduction to $5 for online/mobile stock/ETF trades.Previously that was $20. That is probably still relatively high compared to where brokerage comms are going. But that's not too bad.

One of the best / simplest / easiest way to get CG status is to just leave some non volatile assets in a self directed brokerage / IRA account in CPWM.

No fees for that. And if one uses ETFs, CPWM won't earn any money either (if you feel like denying them those revenue crumbs).

If you leave an open ended fund there Citi will likely collect a small fee from the distributing firm.

You won't see it but it'll get shared on the back end.
