They usually ask me when I return the car for the coupon. I thought I got a "free" one a couple of weeks ago in KC, when they didn't ask me for the coupon. Then I looked at the bill and it was $50+ more than I expected, so went inside (it was raining) and talked to someone about it and said that I had a free coupon that was suppose to be applied. He said it was on the record, but was mistyped as a double upgrade, not a free day. He corrected it and all is well, though I still had to turn in the cert.
I always wait until they ask me for the cert, but I don't think I have had a "free" one. I will keep trying though.
