I connected today (8/22) from T5 to T3. There was an AA agent in T5 (right at the connecting bus), she put a sticker on my bp. When I got to the AA lounge in T3 (they must have noted the sticker) and NO quest. were asked. At the gate they had a printed list (looked like 25 names), if your name was on that list presumably they would do further quest. [The agent near the bus did scan my bp, so I'm guessing that if I were on the LIST she wouldn't have given me a sticker???]
In the past, at least IME, the list would identify the passengers with SSSS.
