It should be instantaneous. Since you log into your account prior to purchase, there should be no question to whose account the points will go.
Check your credit card to see if the transaction was halted for any reason...maybe a fraud alert or something.
If not, you'll likely need to contact Points.com and see what happened with the transaction and verify this will the email receipt, if you received one.
