You were lucky initially. I asked at AC a while ago if the $10 platinum credit were applicable to pantry purchases, receiving a polite "Sorry, but no, bar and breakfast only."

Personally, I'm pleased to hear that it seems to be applicable to all Bistro purchases, as I would probably use it in the evening rather than breakfast, which I don't generally eat at home.
