thanks it was my intention on booking the higher fare class to only use 2 GCU for whole trip with KE segments being upgraded at one time, ATL-ICN-HKT / BKK-ICN-ATL. I ensured there was Z available before I booked flights

Delta
Thank you for your patience, It looks like your upgrades have been cleared for your outbound ATL-ICN and your return ICN-ATL flight on Korean Airlines. *HKS

yes but what about the upgrade from ICN-HKT? that should have been on the same certificate with ATL-ICN if upgrade space is available?

Delta
Thank you for your patience. For the codeshare flights operated by Korean Airlines ICN-HKT and returning from BKK-ICN; you would have to purchase your ticket in Y or B class to use a Z class upgra
The T&Cs say that you can only upgrade on Korean flights if booked in (expensive) Y, B or M fares. Y and B upgrade to Z, M upgrades to O. See point 7 under "show additional details & terms" under Global Upgrade Terms & Conditions here: https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...ml#certificate

What fare class are you booked in? Are your ATL-ICN flights operated by Delta or Korean?
