Not true. If you've made the booking direct with the hotel, the TA can still take over in almost all cases.

The TA can't take over (or rather, it's a bit more complicated) if the booking is made via another third party (e.g. OTAs or luxury OTAs like KiwiCollection, SLH, Mr And Mrs Smith, Tablet Hotels etc - though we work WITH SLH, Mr and Mrs Smith and Tablet, for instance, the booking would probably have to be cancelled first in many instances and rebooked immediately rather than just 'transferred' over).
