What is your priority? To attend the funeral or your own comfort? If I had to attend a family members funeral I wd go any way which to get there . Maybe book the WT seats and see if anything opens up?

Failing that there are business fares from london with LX and LH via ZRH/ FRA for £1500 return on certain dates to GRU maybe that's a alternative?
