Well I would probably leave it until closer the time, but if at the point you have to make a decision you can only get WT / WTP, I would ring up and discuss it with the BAEC agent and ask if a note can be added to the PNR so that if you have to change it again that perhaps they can avoid another change fee. It would save a heap of Avios, and while using Avios in WT isn't usually a good idea, nevertheless at short notice it can be a sensible thing to do.
