Any frequent flyer should have an EF Premium account, then again those on TP runs typically aren't really going to get the full benefit of it It is an utterly invaluable tool, perfect for things like this. In any case, there will be an element of "clueless" approach of the AA agents since they will be the ones who decide if you can actually get on the SB list (provided the flight is not massively overbooked, and they are asking for volunteers to travel later/different routes). High frequency short routes like this should be able to get you on the list, but I would expect there will be several Emeralds ahead of you (your profile shows BA Silver/OWS).
