I'll give some transaction details here in case it helps anyone. On my most recent prepaid rental car, the transaction appeared on my Chase card as "CL *Trip Charges TRIPCHRG.COM", which is not one of the well-known rental car agencies. The receipt from Budget also showed a $0 charge and balance. There was a deposit held against my Chase card for the duration of the rental.
In my opinion, since the entire rental contract is not paid by the same entity there may be issues. I just read the Chase agreement for the mileage plus explorer card and I believe from the wording in the agreement if you pre-pay from the rental car company directly, you will be covered. However in the case of Autoslash and TRIPCHRG seems that there's a third party involved therefore you're not initiating and paying on the same contract. I'm not an attorney, just my opinion
