I recently flew from Geneva to Heraklion via Athens. I was surprised that I had to exit the airside area at Athens and go through security again. The connection time was only an hour and I only just made the flight to Heraklion. Why was it necessary to clear security again when my hand luggage and I had already been scanned at Geneva?
