How picky is JAL about carryons?
I'm flying SFO-HND in JL F, HND-KIX-BKK 5 days later in (domestic Y)? and J, and then BKK-KIX-LAX 4 days later (and LAX-SFO on AS, but I know AS) in J as two award bookings from AS MP. I'm super excited about flying JL for the first time, and experiencing JL F and J.
I'd like to figure out how to pack. I have a small backpack, a rimowa 34L, and a small backpack DSLR bag I'd like to bring. I've never had it be a problem to have all 3 items with me, but I'm concerned due to the domestic Y segment (maybe I can pay to upgrade to Domestic J?).
The backpack and rimowa are full of can't-be-checked items (batteries, controlled items, etc). The camera batteries could be put into one of those and the body/lenses put into a checked pelican, but that would be a little less convenient. What should I do?
