Don't bother calling back - just write a letter (yes, the old fashioned type, with a signature at the bottom and sent by post). I find that most UK businesses take written post far more seriously than telephone calls, where one never seems to be able to interact with anyone above the level of acting deputy sub-assistant decision maker.
