A good move - it makes B and H more like the BMI equivalents - i.e. no need to always upgrade to Y/J if there are still B and H available. Greater harmony with long haul semi-flexible fares as well.

((How long before B and H stop earning 100% miles and tier points though - in order to "encourage" people to buy J anyway to get their points))

"Hopefully this is the first step in MAKING B/H FARES AVAILABLE ON BA.COM!!! " Problem is that all the WT fares apart from N (I think) are changeable in the same way - if they introduced a new category "Economy (Changeable for a Fee - Lowest)" which would mean that you still couldn't guarantee getting a B or an H and your tier points.

I still think it would be fair to introduce 25% teir points on discounted economy - 5 on Europe and 20 on long haul - this would still exclude the casual traveller from Silver but make us ECers a little happier when forced to fly discounted.

Will these rules also apply to D class fares which also need a full upgrade to J to be changed?
