I had received my previous Marriott Rewards card bonus in late July 2016, so I am now clear of the two year mark. And the window to get a new Marriott Chase card is closing, as I already hold the SPG Amex.
So here's my quandary. I don't really need a 2nd Marriott card. However, the 75K bonus would be nice and could be my last chance for a while. And those bonus points are essential to my recent annual 5 night stay at the Mauna Kea habit. If the card's just going to sit in my wallet after earning the bonus, is it worth getting? The annual free night may be worth the annual fee, depending upon how I use it.
Clock is ticking, as in 2 weeks this option will not be here. Any advice?
I don't really have anything to base this on but I have to think there's a possibility the 100K offer comes back to align with the "launch" of the new program. I canceled the old one and currently am gonna hold out a little longer to see if my suspicion holds true.
Worst case, I don't think the 75,000 offer will be gone for long if it is at all. If I remember correctly I think the 70,000 range wasn't very uncommon with the old card so I don't really see why that would change, especially as I'm sure they want former SPG members to sign up as well.
