i'm having a similar debate and am hopeful that two seats open up in F on a flight from IAH to FRA on Monday. wife and i are currently booked in j, but agree that its worth the incremental 80K points to have such a unique experience. i've been monitoring and F seems to open up the day of the flight.

question for the board. if i do have 2 F seats open up, is there any way short of calling lufthansa while i book that i can see if the seats are near one another? i know there are only 8 seats in F but i wouldnt want to splurge and be in 1A while my wife is in 2K. i'm booking through united fyi.
