Has anyone ever had success getting credit for a travel expense that doesn't post as such? I stayed at a small hotel recently and they seem to have run the charge through Square -- which didn't trigger the credit. The charge says "lodging" in it, but starts with "Sq." If I call customer service, will they help me?

EDIT: Since nobody responded, I decided to call anyway. It turns out the problem wasn't Square: it's that the hotel decided to code themselves as a "travel agency" -- which doesn't qualify for the Altitude reimbursement. I've had this problem with other credit cards and their bonus point categories: like when I eat in a restaurant and pay with my Discover card during the restaurant bonus quarter, but the restaurant doesn't track as such. Discover is always willing to adjust my points when these mistakes happen.

US Bank was unwilling to re-categorize the charge. But they did offer me 10,000 bonus points when I expressed unhappiness with this (silly) policy. So it was worth the call.
