How would you credit your miles?

Two of us flying in paid F from SFO-ZRH and back (along with some intraeuropean flights in the middle, all on SWISS).

I am *G on UA, but I strongly dislike UA, and fly them only as a last resort. I have historically used my MileagePlus account to dump Star Alliance airline miles. But I'm wondering whether this is smart, given that earnings are generally lower on partner airlines.

I am generally only redeeming those miles on other airlines, too — rare to redeem them on United, unless I'm flying my parents to see me. (Sorry, mom.) I would otherwise be happy to be able to redeem points later on LH/LX, or on an Asian airline, like SQ (duh).

Should I:
* Accrue these points to UA?
* Accrue these points to my (empty but existing) Miles & More account?
* Accrue them to another Star Alliance program?

I am willing to play the long game on points accrual, and something feels wrong about storing them all at UA, when I want to avoid ever redeeming them on UA.

Advice of the group appreciated!
