You could always try writing to UA if the majority of your flights are on CR2s which is the only time the handles have any value.
In 5 years of flying with United I have yet to fly on anything smaller than an E170. Also they wont crack for a silver/goldsman. Most of my flights are inter-California or SFO - BKK. Again I won’t be using it on my bags. Just for a collection.
