Unfortunately now that VX is no more, HA is easily the best J option to the best coast (and the best option to the east coast too unless you're headed to/through ATL and have a ton of skypesos).

In economy HA isn't horrible (nice to have a new, clean widebody - the big 3 use their oldest/trashiest planes on HI routes) - but Alaska is ok for narrowbody. Southwest will shake things up before long and it will be interesting to see how the big boys respond.

Moving back to CA next year (whew!).
