Not sure on the 789 as I've only flown on the 788 to/from SJC/NRT (NH171/172), and the 77W from SFO/NRT (NH7/8) many times. I've never had a retractable divider between seats, though there's a little bit of a gap and they aren't fully enclosed pods. I've only see a full removable divider in pictures of flights that have an F cabin (and only in the F cabin)
