As all bags (or at least, their labels) are, I assume, scanned multiple times as they pass on their travels from leaving you to their safe collection, its a shame that the airlines, BA included, don't offer a tracking facility like UPS, TNT etc do. That way you could check at push back whether or not your bag had joined you on the same flight or not...
