I recently purchased the headsets on AA for the inflight entertainment. Last week, on HP, they announced you could rent headsets to watch the movie for a "$5 headset rental fee." I just plugged mine and enjoyed the show. On the return flight however, they announced you could watch the movie for a "$5 entertainment fee."

What is the official position on passengers using their own headsets?
