is it possible the manager/assistant sent the CASH back in an envelope and now it's gone?

be that as it may I would call and speak with the HOTEL's manager - not the manager on duty, acting, front desk, etc. and ask how the sent the money etc. If it was cash and it wasn;t registered mail or whatever you may be out of luck.

i would also email the
