Changing the category should extend the expiration of the hotel partial package to one year from the date of change. Can you confirm by upgrading your package, the expiry date moved another year?
in my case, mid Oct is my expiry date, and I just dont see myself using it by then.....so if upgrading changes the expiration date that is worth the insurance...plus it may possibly fare better in the hotel category mapping after next week.
